Iso Syöte

September 20, 2015

Last month I spent a week alone in the nature around an empty ski resort Iso Syöte, where our family cottage lies. The first two days were spent in a great company, but I decided to stay there because the weather was just outstanding (in Finnish standards, at least).

I woke up every morning at 5 am to catch the morning mist floating all around the forest. Swam every day, enjoyed the weathers and just basically breathed it all in. While being there I had noticed that I hadn't actually been fully alone a single day in the past two years. Still after a month I can feel the effect of this week in my bones. A good relaxed state of mind. The sunrises and the fog out there were out of this world for that one perfect week.

I'm actually going back there tomorrow for some autumn colours, but the weather looks a bit horrible..

Let's see what happens!

Flow Festival 2015

September 07, 2015

This year marked a very special occasion, as I was an official Instagram photographer for the most famous festival event in Finland, Flow Festival. My job was to photograph and keep up a live feed on Flow Festival's own Instagram feed (as well as creating a set of images for American Express Finland). See you at the bottom!

It's that time of the year again. A silent industrial part of Helsinki turns into a festival of light, sound and design: Flow Festival. Being the first offical instagram-exclusive photographer for Flow, I had already started documenting the build of the festival from the scratch. Now as the construction was reaching it's final steps for the weekend, it was a worth a wait as I decided to stay until night despite the hectic but thrilling upcoming days. As the venue emptied, I grabbed my camera and headphones and headed out to enjoy the spectacular surroundings soon to be filled with thousands of visitors.

Can't wait to see how everything turns out tomorrow! Read more about this year's venue, art and artists from www.flowfestival.com
