Last weekend we drove all the way to Iso Syöte Ski Resort to enjoy some proper Finnish hobbies like naked snow dipping after sauna, snowboarding and board games. The very last night of our stay we took a 40 minute walk all the way up to the top of the mountain. Having spent countless of winters here, the scenery never ceases to amaze me.
A casual nightly stroll turned into a proper photowalk the second we left the cottage.
This is where I begin
Sometimes you wander to a location so vast and overwhelming that it takes over all your senses. You tremble and gasp at the sight, but you loose the sense of coldness. "How can you ever manage to capture something like this into a photograph" isn't a thought I usually undergo, but that tension skyrocketed while walking towards the pitch black mountains of Thórsmörk in Iceland. Somehow, just somehow I wanted to capture that enormous feeling, a sense of connection with nature.
This photo is part of my Iceland series taken on a trip sponsored by Olympus camera brand, who sent 9 of the best Nordic Instagramers to test out the Olympus OM-D EM-1 camera. Visit www.blcksnds.com for more info.
More photos of this trip are currently shown only on my Instagram feed: @Skwii.
Bahini →
Last Friday I photographed a set for Bahini, a really great starting up yoga bag brand by a dear friend, Fredrika! She is currently on her first step to entrepreneur life, and is funding the brand's first products via Mesenaatti.me, a Finnish crowdfunding site. Having seen and tried the products, I must say I have never seen as slick yoga bags before, superior in quality and durability compared to what I've used myself before.
If you do yoga then be sure to fund this project by buying the coolest products right now: mesenaatti.me/bahini-joogamattokassit/ :)
